Goldfield Courthouse
Goldfield, Nevada is now nearly a ghost town but at one point was one of the largest cities in the state of Nevada. Ghost hunters frequent the old city and focus mainly on the four-story Goldfield Hotel. The hotel is believed to be the home of at least four ghosts. One of these ghosts is a prostitute who was murdered in one of the rooms. The hotel is currently closed off to the public. However, the old courthouse is open to the public and is said to be even more haunted than the hotel. The two-story stone building was built in 1907 when the mines were lucrative.
By 1913, the city was already on the decline. The courthouse brings the past to life with its original lamps and furniture. The courtroom on the second floor is believed to be haunted by ghosts who participated in a specific trial because voices are heard occasionally. Shadows appear on the hardwood floors and a noose from someone who hung himself appears in one of the chambers.
The chair that is claimed to be possessed by a ghost is the most interesting paranormal phenomena in the courthouse. Every morning when the staff comes in, the chair is moved to a different spot than the night before.
