Gabriel Davies Tavern is one of the oldest taverns in the state of New Jersey, located in Glendora. The building that the tavern resides in today has been around since the days of the Revolutionary War. Back in the years of the Revolutionary War, the attic of the building was used as a hospital for wounded soldiers. The original furnishings from the building are currently still present in the tavern.
Bloodstains are rampant on these old furnishings. This fact, accompanied with the extreme emotion that was once in the attic, has apparently led to its haunting. People have reported seeing full-bodied apparitions of people walking around upstairs, as well as hearing sounds of pain and suffering.
I will say I grew up in Glendora , And before it was known as a historical site . Me and friends would play in the near by woods just before the property opening. And would wonder onto the property of Gabriels Davies Tavern. we would peer into the windows as preteens and teens. And on more than one occasion I did witness movement within the home to the degree that on Halloween we went to the door expecting to see the resident . And once again we saw movement inside. As we relised nobody was going to answer the door. We began to walk away just as we passed what was the stable the front door opened. And to out suprise there was nobody there. Needless to say 4 preteens who didnt scare easily . got scared..and off we ran..and since knew there was no treats to be had there.
