Fort Edmonton Park
Fort Edmonton Park is located in Edmonton, Alberta, and is Canada’s largest living history park. This park is also believed to be frequently haunted. Fort Edmonton Park was designed to represent four significant periods in Edmonton’s history. These periods are: the 1846 fur trade fort, and the streets of 1885, 1905, and 1920. The fort was reconstructed in 1966, and inside of it includes buildings from the four different eras. The Firkins house is located on the park and was originally owned by Dr. Ashley Firkins.
The house was built in 1912, and in 1992 the house was donated to the park. Dr. Firkins was a dentist who lived in Edmonton with his wife and son. According to historical records, no one was ever reported to have died in the house, although it seems to be haunted by some of the spirits who once called the house their home. One photograph taken in one of the upstairs bedrooms captures the spirit of a small boy who was playing with a red ball. In the study area, there is one particular piece of furniture that attracts a spirit to it. A female apparition usually shows up in pictures taken there, often in the middle of the bookcase. The rest of the park is also haunted, with reportings of footsteps, and the feeling that someone or something is right behind you.
