Fight Club has been called one of the best films of the 1990s. Its quotes and overall message have made its way into American popular culture. Brad Pitt and Edward Norton were launched to stardom after the release of this movie. The film was critically acclaimed for its anti-society message and its use of violence in the dramatic story. David Fincher became a regular go-to director for mainstream Hollywood films. With the success of this film, he went on to direct Zodiac and Panic Room.

The film explores the idea of going against society. The narrator is a typical 9-5 workaholic who is obsessed with buying expensive furniture. He is normal member of society. That is until he meets a man named Tyler Durden. Tyler works odd-jobs and lives in a broken-down house. His philosophy is that life should not be typical. It should be whatever you want it to be. The two men start up an underground fight club to show how anti-society they truly are. Soon the club takes its toll on the narrator and deadly consequences ensue. This leads to one of the most famous twist-endings in Hollywood history.
