Economical Car
January 2nd, 2009
In this urban legend, a man’s new car gets high gas mileage, sometimes as much as 1,000 miles per gallon. The driver is very astounded and happens to mention it to the dealer he bought it from. The dealer then realizes that he had accidentally sold the customer an experimental model that the factory was trying to locate and recall. The man is then given a huge cash bonus for returning the car or promised a new car every year for the rest of his life.
This urban legend has been circulating since the 1940s.
