Eastern State Penitentiary

The Eastern State Penitentiary is a former state-prison in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from 1829-1971. One of its most notable inmates was the notorious gangster Al Capone, who was incarcerated there in 1929 on illegal weapons possession. During his time at the penitentiary, Capone was supposedly tormented by the ghost of James Clark, one of the men murdered in the infamous St. Valentine’s Day Massacre.
Some descriptions of ghosts that haunt the area would be a shadow-like figure that scoots quickly away when approached, a figure in the guard tower, a evil cackling from cell-block 112, a shadowy figure in cell-block 6, and ghost faces appearing in cell-block 4.
There are tours that you can take of the penitentiary for a small fee if you are interested in experiencing the paranormal activity of the former jail. However, a lot of the locations listed in the previous paragraph are not permitted during the tour. Beware, Eastern State Penitentiary is widely considered one of the most haunted places in the world.
