Dorr House

Dorr-House

Dorr House is located in Pensacola, Florida and is a historic yellow house that faces Old Christ Church. In the late 19th century, this area was one of the most prominent in all of Florida. The house, from an architectural stand point, is a post-Civil War Classic Greek Revival structure, and a pretty good one at that. It is a typical house of the 1870s, including a parlor, dining room, and a hall leading to the kitchen. The Pensacola Heritage Foundation bought the house in 1964 and started to restore it. In 1975, it was purchased by the Pensacola Preservation Board.

This historic house, along with all of its history, contains many stories of the paranormal. Guides of the historic walking tour always feel uncomfortable. Shadows are seen briefly but quickly disappear. Poltergeists are believed to be in the building due to the movement of certain objects on their own. A woman even reported a pulling feeling on her skirt when she was completely alone. A neighbor one night reported hearing an alarm going-off inside the house, only to find out that the power wasn’t even on.

There has never been any explanation for the paranormal events at Dorr House.
