I would be inclined to say yes, of course we have a purpose in life. We would never have developed wide spectrum intelligence as humans if it wasn’t for a good reason…
No – if we evolved, ultimately from inanimate material billions of years ago, then no. Life is a complete accident with no purpose. There is no evidence that this accident occurred anywhere else in the universe. Eventually, the sun will burn out and mankind, along with all the other lifeforms on earth, will cease to exists.
