Commissariat Stores
The Commissariat Stores was the first stone building constructed in Queensland, Australia. Construction began in 1827, and was completed two years later in 1829. The building has served as a number of institutions since 1827, including: a store for government supplies, a repository for the Queensland State Archives, and as the headquarters for the Royal Historical Society of Queensland. It currently is used as a convict museum for the years of Brisbane settlement. Ghosts have been reported in the building for many years now.
Paranormal experiences include the sounds of strange noises and footsteps in areas where no one is around. People have reported even feeling an invisible presence where they stand. The most famous phenomena is at a door located on the side of the building, where if you knock on it, you will witness footsteps walking towards it. The sounds then come to a sudden stop, seemingly when the presence appears to have reached the other side of the door. This ghost does this as a prank to people to scare them away. The one suspect of this spirit is that of William Perfoot, who was killed by an inmate there in 1828.
