Collecting Rainwater

January 15th, 2009

A good way to create a source for water is by setting up traps to collect rainwater. You must be creative in doing this with whatever is at hand. Any waterproof sheets would be ideal for doing this, as well as just placing containers on the ground. The bigger the container or sheet that you use, the more water you will catch. Once you do catch some rainwater, you must purify it. If you have no chemical purification tablets or devices nearby, boiling is sufficient. Capturing rainwater is one of the easiest ways to create a water supply in a survival situation. All it takes is a little creativity and patience.
