Ghost Lake

Believe it or not, there exists a “Shades of Death Road” in the state of New Jersey in Allamuchy county. There is a lake on that road named “Ghost Lake.” Therefore, right away one would assume that something paranormal must be going on in this part of town.

As a matter of fact, there are many local legends surrounding the mystery of Ghost Lake, but the most famous is that the site was once an Indian burial ground. Then settlers came to the area and built a man made lake over people’s final resting places.

Legend has it that the spirits of the Indians who are buried there haunt the grounds in an angry fashion, but who can blame them?

Many local areas around the world have their own stories of hauntings and legends. The Canyon Hill Cemetery in Caldwell, Idaho is no stranger to this concept.

According to local legend in Caldwell, if you go to the cemetery at night and park between two trees that face the cemetery, the ghost of a jogger will appear and tap on the car window. This ghost is commonly referred to as “the midnight jogger.”

Located in Blacksburg, South Carolina, the legend of the Cherokee Falls Bridge goes back to around 30 years ago. In 1979, a man by the name of Booger Jim was hung over the bridge by his wife with jumper cables.

It is said that ever since his death there, his spirit has lived on and haunts people from under the bridge. The legend goes that if you call out his name on the bridge three times, he will answer.
