The Carousel Gardens Restaurant is located on North Street in Seymour, Connecticut. The man often referred to as the Founder of Seymour is William H. Wooster. He was originally from Waterbury, but then moved to Seymour and opened a bank, a water company, and was heavily involved with the school and church in town. He then decided to build an estate in 1879 and it was completed in 1894.
Wooster and his seven children moved in here and had a life of luxury. The last remaining Wooster to live in the mansion was William’s daughter, Ruth. Since then, the property has been bought and resold many times. Most recently, it was bought by the Shiarffa’s. Paul and Debbie are the names of the couple who have turned the place into a successful dining area called the Carousel Gardens Restaurant.
The place seems to be haunted, with staff members telling stories of how they hear glass breaking sometimes and see nothing there. People also get tugged on and have the feeling that they are being watched all the time. A cat with glowing white eyes was also reported on the premises, even though cats don’t occupy the area. It is believed that the spirits of both Ruth and William still haunt their old house. One paranormal investigator even claimed to have spoken to Ruth. Apparently, she is quite thrilled with the way Paul has been running things and loves to see happy people in her home once again.
