Can of Snakes

December 26th, 2008

In this legend, two fisherman are walking along a stream and see a little boy who is fishing with a pole, hook, line, and bobber, with a tin can of worms. The men ask the boy if any fish are biting and the boy replies “The fish aren’t biting, but my worms sure are”. The men laugh about this strange answer and move on. They come back later only to find the little boy dead on the river bank. Apparently, the tin can were full of baby rattlesnakes, copperheads, etc. which had bitten him to death.
