Cafe Beignet
Cafe Beignet is located on Royal Street in New Orleans, Louisiana. The cafe is always busy with people coming in and out all day starting from 7:00 A.M. Very few of these people notice the apparition of a young woman that is dressed in Native American clothes. She passes through the walls, disappearing into the bricks.
The fact that the ghost moves through the wall of the building indicates that this haunting has been taking place before the construction of the current building. For hundreds of years before the French control, Indians used this area of land to pass from the Mississippi River to Lake Pontchartrain. The belief is that this woman spent a lot of time in this spot caring for a loved one who was dying. The apparition moves very slowly and never turns her head or moves her arms.
People who see her believe that they can see her carrying a blanket or some kind of animal skin. The ghost is most likely seen during closing time when there are very few customers in the cafe. Employees of the cafe report having many experiences with the ghost in the late hours of the evening.
