Butte-Silver Bow Archives
Butte-Silver Bow Archives is located in Butte, Montana and is a place of many artifacts for these famous mining towns. The building that the Archives is in was originally the Quartz Street Fire Station that was built in 1900. It also served as the fire chief’s headquarters until the 1970s. The building is two story’s tall and made of brick. Since 1981, the Archives have called this building home and it has served as a place bringing the area’s regional history to life. Shain Wolstein is the name of an employee that has been working at the Archives since 2001. Wolstein has experienced many paranormal events. As a matter of fact, Wolstein experiences something unexplained just about everyday. Some of these events include seeing a shadow through the corner of his eye, doors opening and closing, disconnected telephones ringing, footsteps, and voices.
One night while working late alone, a picture flew off the wall and landed five feet away on his desk. Another night with a colleague, Wolstein heard the sound of people running up the steps but no one was there. Following this, he then saw the ghost of the fire chief who died in 1915 after falling off the truck there and suffered from a brain hemorrhage. The chief, along with old miners are the ghosts seen in the building.
