Burlington Methodist Church

The Burlington Methodist Church is located in West Burlington, Pennsylvania. It was built in 1822 on the grounds where two former churches and a school once stood. The church today is no longer active, but apparently it is active in paranormal activity. You may see the church driving on the back road of U.S. Route 6, sitting atop the hill side almost majestically. As you walk up to the front door, a tiny graveyard surrounds you, giving the setting a creepy feel. Ghosts have been reported being seen in the cemetery walking at night, and this happens often.
A former clergymen was working at the church when he went out to his car for a minute to grab a supply that he forgot to bring inside. This took all of maybe five minutes, and when he went back inside he made a startling discovery; all of the bibles in the church were opened up to the same page which was a passage in Revelations. Needless to say, the man fled away from the church and never came back. No human being could possibly have done this act in that time frame, especially since the man swore no one else was in the church with him.
Ghost Incorporated investigated the church in 2003 and had some good findings instantly from arrival. They heard stomping from the balcony, witnessed green mist that formed on the stairway of the pulpit, a book being thrown across the wall, and finally the worst event they experienced was the cameraman who was capturing all of the footage started to choke to death by an unseen force. The group rushed him outside and left. EVP recordings captured voices saying, “You’re going to get it”, and “You are being too loud.”

I have a question about the pic that you have up of the Burlingtion Methodist Church..this is not a pic of the current Church that has been standing since 1822. Is this one of the first 2 that were built before 1822??? Your info of the church is correct, but the pic is not the church that is on a hill surrounded by a graveyard.

We actually haven’t conducted research on this Church so we wouldn’t know if it is the correct picture or not. If you have a link to a correct picture, feel free to leave it as a comment for everyone to see.

me and my family heard about the haunted church in burlington pa so we decided to go check it out late at night we took cameras and flashlights sat there for a couple hrs a flashlight we took w brand new batteries died and would not turn back on as we were leaving the church they decided to take pics of the windows from outside on the digital cameras and what appears in the pics looked to be a little boy and a man in 1 window and another man in the other window and the back of a man walking down the stairs little kids sitting in the pews like a coin sound dropping in the pews next to us when were we in the church as we sat there being quiet and turned the flashlights off. it was pretty cool to experienece anything like that.

THE STORY OF THE OTHER GROUP IS MOSTLY ACCURATE AS WE HAVE MET WITH SOME OF THEM. OUR TEAM IS HARD PRESSED TO CAPTURE ANYTHING ON VIDEO HOWEVER, I CAN TELL YOU THAT WE HAVE PICKED UP PLENTY OF AUDIO EVIDENCE. MOST OF THE VOICES SEEM TO BE CHILDREN, LIKE 8 TO 16 YEARS OLD OR SO. AS THE OTHER ARTICLE ABOVE SAID, THE PIC ABOVE IS NOT THE 1822-PRESENT STRUCTURE. THE PIC ABOVE CAN NOT BE ANY OF THE EARLIER CHURCHES AS THERE WHERE NO CAMERAS THEN. I DON’T KNOW WHAT CHURCH IS IN THE PIC. TO OUR KNOWLEDGE, THERE WAS NEVER A SCHOOL ON THE SITE HOWEVER, THE CURRENT STRUCTURE WAS USED AS A SCHOOL AT ONE TIME.
