Revelation has become one of the most questionable books of the whole bible. Written by a man who identifies himself as “John,” the book tells of visions which were shown to him by God. John describes these events in frightening detail. The book as mainly speaks about terrible beasts unleashed by Satan who have been set free to wreak havoc on earth. Although John believes these visions are about demons, some modern scholars have a different interpretation of the story.

It is believed by many in the Christian community and scholars that the book is a group of visions that have yet to happen. These “beasts” may not necessarily be the animal-like creatures John seemed to think they were. Since he was not familiar with modern-day technology or warfare, he was applying these visions to what he knew best. It could be possible that he was seeing large helicopters, or fighter jets launching missiles. He spoke about a war which would be centered in the middle-east and that four nations would be involved.

If we apply these visions to modern-day events we can see he was possibly seeing the flags of the four world super-powers: Britain, Russia, China, and the United States. These four nations may one day become involved in a nuclear war which will annihilate much of humanity and cause the destruction of our earth. Although this is mere speculation, one can assume that John was shown these visions so that people could turn to God before these terrible events unfold.
