Bonaventure Cemetery is located in Savannah, Georgia. Savannah is often considered to be America’s Most Haunted City. Among the top haunted spots in the city is Bonaventure Cemetery. The cemetery is home of Gracie the weeping monument and “Bird Girl” from Midnight in the Garden of Greed and Evil. The cemetery is a beautiful sight due to its amazing scenery, yet it also is a scary place as well, especially at night. At one point, the site where the cemetery now is was a beautiful plantation. One night at the plantation, a dinner party was held.
During the party, a fire broke out and the structure burned to the ground. People who have visited the site have claimed to hear the sound of laughter and dinnerware clattering against each other. There is a strange statue of a girl named Gracie Watkins in the cemetery. People believe that this statue cries at night. The story is that people who pass her statue usually put presents into her hands such as money. However, when someone walks by and takes one of these presents, she cries tears of blood. There a few other ghosts that haunt this site, but most the famous are the pack of phantom hounds that have chased and barked at visitors.
