Body in the Bed
A couple checked into a Las Vegas hotel only to find a terrible smell coming from within the room. Since the hotel was full, they had to stay the night in the room. They woke up the next morning to only find that the smell worsened. They complained yet again to the receptionist. They leave the hotel and come back to find a police guard outside their hotel door. Apparently, the maid cleaning the room had found a decomposing corpse inside the bed’s base. Some believe that this was a possible Mafia hit victim.
Some versions of this legend include the rewarding of the guests with lifetime free rooms for their trauma. This legend grew very popular in the early 1990s, when actual instances of real bodies were turning up in hotel rooms in 1988 and 1989, as well as twice in 1994 and 1996.
