Boba Fett is the most infamous bounty hunter in the entire Star Wars universe. He has become a fan favorite because of his unique costume design and mystery surrounding his origins. The character was created by George Lucas and first appeared in the 1980 film The Empire Strikes Back. The character’s origins were shrouded in mystery. It was up to the fans of Star Wars to create their own back-story of this character until such time as George Lucas did it. Fett’s first appearance was in the 2002 film Attack of the Clones.
In the years before the downfall of the Republic, a secret army of clones was being created on the distant planet of Kamino. Jango Fett, a bounty hunter used his own likeness for the clone troops. Thousands of these troops were created. Jango Fett took one of the child clones for himself and named him Boba. When the creation of these troops was discovered, Jango and Boba went on the run from the Republic. The clones were used against the Separatist forces whom Jango was allied with.
After the death of Jango at the hands of the Jedi, Boba took up his father’s profession and became a bounty hunter. He traveled all over the galaxy killing anyone he was assinged to. He worked under the Hutt family for many years. Darth Vader eventually sent him on a quest to imprison Han Solo and bring him back. Boba was successful and personally transported the frozen Solo to the Hutt palace on Tatooine. In a twist of fate, similar to that of his father, Boba was killed by a Jedi.
Boba didn’t die. In the books he gets out of the Sarlacc.
