Black Elk Prophecy
During the late 19th century, a tribe of Indians began performing a dance infamously known as the ghost dance. This dance was conceived after one of their tribesman named Black Elk had a spiritual vision of the future. For those interested in the apocalypse, what Black Elk saw will seem very interesting. Black Elk had a series of visions during his adult life. In these visions, he saw terrible things like people screaming and dieing. The world was in chaos. War had ravaged the land. Humanity had become barbaric animals whose only purpose was to fight and kill their neighbors. Many believe that this was a prophecy of what might happen in 2012.
After Black Elk revealed these visions to his people, they began a ghost dance with which they hoped would spiritually bring the Indian nation back to all it’s glory. The United States government saw this as an act of revolution. U.S. Army troops were sent into the valley to stop the dance and kill those who would not listen. As a result, many Indians were slaughtered for doing the ritual.
