Birdcage Theater

December 24th, 2008

Birdcage Theater is located in Tombstone, Arizona. It originally opened on December 23rd, 1881 and it served as a burlesque hall with a stage, bar, casino, and dance hall. The theater would only be in business for nine years, but it had its fair share of violence in that short period of time. There are a recorded number of 140 bullet holes in the ceilings and walls of the building. There was a famous murder in the building of a woman named Margurita who was stabbed to death by Gold Dollar. This murder took place because Margurita was sitting on the lap of Billy Milgreen, whom was Gold Dollar’s lover.

Many people visit the old theater to this day and report many paranormal activities. These include cold spots and seeing invisible people singing and dancing. Some have reported being in one of the empty rooms one moment, and then in the same room completely full of people with a woman singing the next. This was also accompanied with cigar smoke, liquor, and loud voices and dialogue. A ghost of man with a clipboard is seen often walking across the stage. There are other ghosts that are seen that appear so real they are mistaken for staff members. Tombstone, Arizona is considered to be one of the most, if not the most haunted location in the West.
