Bellwood Mansion

The Bellwood Mansion is located in Dover, Tennessee. The mansion is no longer inhabited, and is located in the middle of the woods. Spirits still seem to occupy the halls of this spooky site. Ghosts are said to haunt the mansion, but there have also been reports of the mansion being the site of satanic rituals and witchcraft, which in that case would bring a ton of spirits to the site by that reason alone.
If anyone has ever gone to the mansion, you will notice that it is fenced off. Has anyone been brave enough to venture past this fence and into a realm of the unknown?

as for the hounting house thing i think that is a joke thats been going on for years.i realy dont belive its hounted.i have been inside it more then once and i dont see anything so scary.maybe im just blind or something or maybe the gost just likes me and dont want to scare me or someting …? I realy dont know but i will tell ya its not csary to me.what i would like to see is more info on the history of the house and the familys that have lived in the home and why everyone thinks it hounted.

I lived in that house as a child. Believe me strange stuff happened all the time. The woman who owned it at that time was strange. It was an old slave master house. there is some kind of burial ground off the right side of the house in the woods. the whipping post was in the room below the left side of the front porch. Strange things happen believe me.
What is the address there? I have searched for it, but cannot find it anywhere. I’m trying to find the current owner to get permission for my team to investigate it. I lived in this house from June of 1994 until November of 1994……I just want everyone to know that this house is very haunted…..I was in the 6th grade while we lived there and hadn’t needed a night light ever until we moved into that house….Our first day there we had to clean off dead birds tha had been hung in a ritualist way from every wall in the house….There was a huge evil looking zodiac wall thing tat covered a whole wall in my mothers bedroom….The old lady that owned the house at the time her name was Anna Ray had several rooms in the house that she wouldn’t allow anyone to enter….I was also scared to death when I was playing one day in the slave whipping quarters I guss you would call it… I saw with my own eyes bloo dripping down the walls…….
My husband’s Grandmother is Anna Rae, the owner of the Bellewood Mansion. We have had Christmas at that house on more than one occasion and she stays in that house quiet often. The house is old and is run down but you can tell that there was alot of love in that house as well. I have several pictures of the inside of that house and the Grand Piano that used to be in the parlor. People have been very inconsiderate and torn up things and trespassed and that is the reason for the fence, along with the donkeys that Moma Anna Rae loves. She has also had horses and shetlans in there as well. So for the record the house is just an old house and there are alot of warm family memories there. Enough with the kid stuff and the ghosts ! April, My Uncle owned the place in the 50′s and 60′s and like you I remember some good family times there. During his time the road he built near the bottom ground was surfaced with the blue green slag from the iron ore furnace. It was quite pretty in the morning sun with a heavy dew. We used to search the hils toward the river for arrow heads, there was supposed to be an indian burial site on the hill. He eventually sold most of the ground for Barkley Lake and then divided more into lots for weekd cabins.
my grandmother and her parents were the last inhabitants of the house. she lived there as a child many years ago and did tell some pretty good stories about strange happenings. the house has burned down just a few years ago but the cemetery and foundation still remain.
Find public records if you don’t believe me. franchise hood was her name. the remains of the house are on goshen road.

This house still stands and still looks just like the photo on this page. I drove by it just last night.
Heres the thing. ive lived 2 minutes walking distance from this house since i was born. not only have i heard strange sounds from it but in the winter when the leaves are no longer on the trees, u can get a good view of the upper window on the side of the house. i can only giv u my word, but i have seen a young woman standing up there in a white gown of some sort. another story some of u may want to look into is the cave in the woods a little ways from there. not many ppl no where it is, and even fewer no about the other half. anyway, upon walking up to the cave, i get a strange sense…i cant describe it. it feels extremely hot to me even in the winter. anyway, as for checking out the house, i highly doubt that miss Kates would let anyone, but as for the area around it, it may be a different story.

We drove passed the house on Sun. and it’s still standing, so how could it have burnt down…..Who is Miss Kate, and does she live there now ?

The house hasn’t burned down. I just drove by it yesterday. I have always loved this house. It’s absolutely gorgeous! I will admit it is a little spooky-looking, but in my opinion that just adds to the charm. It was even spookier 20 years ago when the road it was on was still gravel, the area was more desolate, and it had a giant sign out front with a bible scripture quoted on it.
