Are We Real?
After watching The Matrix trilogy, I’m sure all of us questioned our reality. In the film series, humans are inside a computer program which simulates life in the late 20th century. The Wachowski Brothers, the makers of this series, took a long-held philosophical theory of life and applied it into an action film which triggered thought and questioning. But let us think about this idea for a moment. Is it possible we could all be living inside a giant computer program right now? It would explain why life is not perfect, how people die unexpectedly, and our life seems at certain points out of our hands. Even the controversial phenomenon of Deja Vu could be explained.
It seems perhaps a little far-fetched to think we are living inside a computer program which controls our environment and other forces around us. Perhaps this theory could answer the question of whether or not the universe has an end or not. Possibly in the real world, the universe does not exist and another form of existence if flourishing that we cannot know about while we are here. We could all be apart of someone’s imagination. There are so many possibilities of the reasons for our existence, and the meaning of life. The only people who can answer these questions are those who have “passed on” as the saying goes.
