This man has been called one of the most vicious humans to ever walk the face of the earth. His crimes against humanity have made their place in history and continue to appall historians and people alike. Hitler’s hatred against the Jewish race caused him to launch a massacre that would encompass every Jew in Europe. From 1933 to 1945, Hitler and his Nazi comrades killed millions of Jews, gays, gypsies, mentally-ill, and non-Aryan people. This holocaust has been called the worse atrocity in recorded history.
Hitler appealed to the German people because of his hatred of the Versailles Treaty. This treaty left Germany poor and ill-equipped to care for its citizens. Hitler formed the Nazi party which believed in an ideology of an Aryan race. The party was controversial in Germany and often the target of hatred and criticism. Hitler was imprisoned for trying to overthrow the government with the use of his “stormtroopers.” For this, he was sentenced to 9 months in jail in which he wrote his famous book “Mein Kampf.” The book told of his theory that the German people were a supreme race and should be at the forefront of the world.
After his release, Hitler once again used his party to help him gain support for a new government. With the German government in crisis, Hindenburg stepped down and Adolf Hitler was placed as the new Chancellor of Germany. From this point on, the country would never be the same again. Hitler began systematically killing off anyone who stood against him, even people within his government. The SS troops were responsible for the arrest and massacre of civilians under Hitler’s orders. With total power in his hands, Hitler wanted to expand and spread his ideology to the rest of the world. His first step was invading Czechoslovakia and other small nations.
This move was met with criticism from England and France. Yet, Hitler did not care for these inferior nations. He launched an attack into Poland and occupied it. With this move, World War Two officially began. Hitler allied himself with Italy and Japan. He began to systematically invade sovereign countries and treat the citizens as vermin. All the while, the slaughter of the Jewish people was happening. Yet, Hitler luck almost ran out on July 20, 1944. On this day, a few Anti-Nazi generals tried to kill Hitler but to no avail. This proved that Hitler’s days were beginning to be numbered. As the Allies closed in both fronts, Hitler became more angered and vicious. He made radical plans to somehow still achieve ultimate victory.
When it was clear that Germany could not win the war, Hitler and his closest advisors went into an underground bunker in Berlin. Here Hitler came to grips with the reality that Germany could not achieve ultimate victory. He married a woman named Eva Braun and committed suicide with her by taking a cyanide capsule and shooting himself in the head. His body was later exhumed by the SS.
