A World without Humans

Many have speculated the idea of what the earth would be like without humans here. Some say the world would be better off without us yet others disagree. We can all definitely agree that without humans on earth, this world would be a much different place. The idea of humans being eradicated from the face of the earth is a concept that has captivated the human mind for ages. Even science fiction has had it’s own opinion on this possible future. But let’s speculate what the world might be like without us here.
In a world of nuclear war, terrorism, and global warming, we humans are no strangers to possible catastrophes that could affect us. Let us assume that a nuclear war broke out. The only people who would be safe are those in bomb shelters or others who managed to escape the contamination area. Within minutes, entire cities would be gone. Historical landmarks and skyscrapers would be destroyed. Assuming a substantial amount of humans survived, we would have to basically start back from scratch. There would be no system of law or government.
So, knowing how we humans are, there would be total chaos. Murder, mass killings, suicide, and rape would be of the norm. We would divert to our Darwinian instinct of “Kill or be killed” and “Survival of the fittest.” We can only hope that something like this never happens. Even though we may think we are living a terrible world, it could be much worse.
