A Nuclear War?

January 6th, 2009

In our world today, we are no strangers to the possibility of Nuclear War. Three evil men could possibly kill us if they ever obtained nuclear weapons and decide to launch them. Thanks to President Bush, one of those threats, Saddam Hussein, was taken out so we are one step closer to putting an end to the possibility of nuclear holocaust. The other two are Mahmoud Ahmadinejad of Iran and Kim Jong-il of North Korea. These two are our current greatest threats to our world. So let us assume that one of these dictators decides to launch a missile at America. The consequences may be devastating so we have to hope that our next President Barack Hussein Obama does not let it happen.

If a weapon was launched, most likely the President would issue a state of emergency and urge us to all head to our basements. The only way our basements could withstand the blast and radiation would be if the walls had three feet of concrete. Assuming you survive the blast, you would have to wait many days until we could go into the outside world. If the impact zone was close to your home, you may have to wait a bit longer and survive on any stored food you have. Once you exit your basement, the outside world would look much different. Almost every structure would be burned and broken. The sky would be gray from nuclear ash and ash would fall from the sky much like snow. It may be better off if we don’t survive the blast.
